A tankless unit is rated in gallons per minute, and the right size depends on how many fixtures run at once and how cold Indiana groundwater gets in January, colder inlet water means more burner needed per gallon. We count your fixtures, check your winter inlet temperature, and spec the unit that keeps two showers and a dishwasher happy at the same time.
The install is the whole job
A tankless heater is only as good as its gas supply and venting. Most Bloomington homes need the gas line upsized to feed a 150,000+ BTU burner, and condensing units need dedicated PVC venting and a condensate drain. All of that is in our quote from the start, the number won’t grow once we open the wall.

How long does the install take?

What maintenance does it need?
An annual descaling flush, about 45 minutes through the isolation valves we install. Skip it for years and Bloomington’s hard water will shorten the heat exchanger’s life.
Will it work when the power is out?
No, gas tankless units need electricity for ignition and controls, same as a modern gas tank with power venting. A small battery backup can cover ignition if outages worry you.
