If the tank is leaking, do this first
Close the cold-water shut-off valve on top of the heater (turn clockwise). Then kill the power, flip the breaker for electric, or turn the gas dial to OFF. If water is near the floor drain, you’re fine to wait for us; if it’s spreading toward finished space, call and we’ll talk you through draining the tank to a hose while a truck heads over.
What same-day actually means
Our trucks stock 40- and 50-gallon gas and electric tanks, thermocouples, elements, and gas valves. Call before noon and a dead heater is almost always repaired or replaced before evening. Call at 9pm and we’ll get you shut down safely tonight and first on the route tomorrow, or come out tonight if water is actively damaging your home.
Smell gas? Different problem
If you smell gas near the water heater, don’t relight the pilot and don’t flip switches. Leave the house, call CenterPoint Energy’s gas leak line, then call us once the meter is checked. A failed pilot is our job; a gas leak is the utility’s first.

How fast can you get here?

Is it safe to leave a leaking heater overnight?
Once the cold inlet is shut and power is off, the tank can’t refill or reheat, the remaining leak is limited to what’s inside. Put a pan or towels down and we’ll replace it in the morning.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?
No. Emergency work pays the same flat rates as a scheduled call. We’d rather you call at 6am than shiver until Monday.
